The FIFA World Cup is one of the most-watched sporting events in the world, and Visa wanted to create an immersive experience for fans that would showcase their brand and provide a unique viewing experience. In partnership with Aircards, the challenge was to create a platform that combined 360 video content, augmented reality, and interactive 3D elements, all tailored to captivate and engage users.
Our team had to overcome several technical challenges, including optimizing the platform for different devices and internet speeds while maintaining the premium quality required for such a high profile experience. Additionally, we had to ensure that the platform was accessible in multiple languages and alphabets, inviting fans from every corner of the globe.
My role centered around leading the development of the main interactive 3D map scene, the integration of 360° video content, stadium tour navigation through hotspots, and the trophy selfie face filter.
These features allowed users to smoothly navigate through detailed 3D models of the stadiums and access high-quality video content, enhancing their overall experience and understanding of the venues.
The face filter was designed for users to capture a selfie with a realistic trophy and easily share it on social media, as a way to add a social component to the experience.
